Progress Report

So its been a while since my last post and with no excuse. Well a lot has happened since then and here is the update via slide show.

I had family photos with my new Korean family, while I know my style has changed a bit I promise I haven't changed inside.

I also have abandoned McDonald's for my new Korean favorite Loteria. Double quarter pounder with cheese you say... no try a big bulgogi burger.

Visiting Joe's town of Boryeong (Daechon) was amazing George Michael even paid a visit to the bar that we were at.

Leaving Boryeong was a treat I had the thrill of spending 5 hours on a bus that should have only taken 2 hours. But don't feel bad since the windows were fogged up and I couldn't see anything outside I had myself an impromptu Korean lesson.

Once back in Seoul I had the pleasure of taking the kindergarten on a field trip to see Shinderella (Cinderella in Korean). The kids are my favorite part of my day (I know most of you wont believe it) they make you feel at home for some reason.

Week 2

So I have been here for a little over a week, so far so good! I have been out in Seoul a couple of times and the Koreans sure know how to party. This past weekend we ventured out to Itaewon, a western Friendly area where the bars and restaurants cater to both the GI's and westerners alike.

Here are some pictures of the Seoul nightlife.

Hello Kitty

So before I arrived to Seoul I knew I would see at least one thing that involved Hello Kitty (how could I not) to my dismay however hello kitty is my roommate! Here are some pictures of my apartment. It is pretty standard and fairly clean (with exception to the mold growing on the wall) and I am pretty comfortable here, hell I have a washing machine that trumps my ghetto alley way shared situation in Phoenix!

GOOD MORNING!

My Boudoir

I have a Sofa!

I wont be cooking much

Korean Coffee?

So I ventured out for the first time today to find some coffee and perhaps a snack. Well as I said before they must have put me in this area because I would be familiar with the businesses. So here is a picture of my first Korean Coffee.

I made it to Seoul

Well I made it to Seoul in one piece! The flight was 13 hours and i was so worn out I slept through most of it. I arrived around 5am Thursday the 30th and was taken to a hotel where I will stay for the next day until my apartment is ready. So far I I haven't seen anything but a Fedex Kinkos, a coffee bean & tea leaf and an office depot, its amazing how western this eastern city seems to be.

Here's a picture of the suite they put me up in for the next night.

I'm Moving To Seoul!

Well this will be the first of many entries throughout the year dedicated to my life in Seoul Korea. A week ago I accepeted a position in Seoul, South Korea as an English teach (Kindergarten - Elementary) which I will begin November 3rd - my birthday. In preparation of my departure I am working furiously to sell my furniture and car (wish me luck) but I think I will be able to do it!

The reason I decided to set up this blog is so that you may all check in once in a while send me emails etc. So if you'd like to see or hear anything specific let me know via email at patrickdoylemurphy@gmail.com or patrickdoylemurphy@yahoo.com.

Thats all for now!
